I had them work on my BMW. While there for another repair I had them look at my door locks. I didn't have the money to do the replacement right away so I told them I would have it done in the future. I noticed that they didn't replace the door panel properly so I went back inside to tell them. First they told me they didn't remove any panels. It works be impossible to tell me what was wrong with the locks without removing the panel. Also, when I first talked to them on the phone they said they WOULD BE removing them. In any case, when I went back into the shop it was near closing so they needed it another day. A bit inconvenient, but I left work early again to pick up the car. When I got into the car and pulled on the door, the lower I realized the lower part of the door panel was no longer attached. Because didn't want to take yet another early day from work and my frustration level is beyond measure, I just left. I will not be going back for another repair.
Thank you Eric for taking the time to leave this review. We appreciate you giving our services a try. Yes you are correct, we did in fact tell you we would need to remove a panel to inspect the cause of failure. However when I had asked my technician to perform the inspection he indicated that this was a common problem for these older 2001 BMW's and the piece that breaks is only sold as an external door latch assembly. We called BMW to verify and our technician was correct. They offer a special order assembly for that repair. So we had no need to remove any panels thus saving you a couple hundred dollars. Figured this was a win situation. After you had expressed your concern with the interior door panel that was pulling off the door due to broken plastic. I offered in good faith to repair at no charge in which we did. Yes the lower section is also broken and has been previously glued and the glue is now breaking away. The truth is if we had removed the panel to inspect, then discovering it is breaking away, then we would have told you it needed to be replaced as well. Were not in the business of breaking cars, were here to repair them. Unfortunately in this situation after not removing the panel, but repairing it and never charging you for any of it, your obviously still very dis-satisified with our services. I ask if there is anything I can or could do to earn your business to please call me. I look forward to the opportunity. Thank you, Phil. Owner of Litchfield Auto Repair.
