I went last week because my saturn was overheating, so I took it in at 9:30am and they gave me a ride home. They never called me, so I ended up calling around 4:30pm, the mechanic told me he would call back once he tracked down my car. He did call back soon after, he told me that my car was leaking coolant, they would have to replace the intake manifold and that it would cost $318.78. He also told me that it might be an internal leakage and that it would cost around $4,500!!! So, I told him that I would just go ahead and pick up my car, because that's a lot of money, obviously. Once I got there the mechanic had told me again what was wrong with my car, and made it seem like my car was soon to break down. Well, it's been a week since, and do you want to know what was wrong with my car...it was just LOW ON COOLANT!! They tried to trick me out of almost $5,000! When all my car needed was some coolant, which cost $15!! I mean just wow. It's been a week and my car is perfectly back to normal. I've been checking it twice a day and there's no leaks, it's not overheating, and the coolant has been at the same level for a week. The one good thing I have to say is that they were nice, except for the whole them trying to take about $5000 from me thing. So now I know to check my car myself before going to a mechanic, lesson learned.

Aimee you have completely miss-understood what we were telling you about your car. Your coolant is low because you have a coolant leak. We filled it before you left, and it sounds like you have had to fill it again. I'm not replying to argue your review, I'm trying to prevent you from a massive repair. Your water pump is leaking, and you have a lot of corrosion build up under the intake manifold by the cylinder head gaskets. We had explained that we need to replace the water pump and clean off the valley under the intake manifold to recheck for leaks. If the cylinder head gaskets are leaking it could be costly. Not $4500.00. I'm not sure where you had come up with that number. If you continue to drive it you will break down. It is not uncommon for water pumps to leak and then stop and start up again. even if you don't have us do the repairs have someone do it before your left on the side of the road and with a much more expensive repair. I tried to call you, however you did not answer. I hope you read this before its too late. You can come in and I will show you on your vehicle exactly what we are talking about so you can better understand. This is not us trying to scare you to do the work, it's simply because we care about our customers. Were not taking anything from you, we did not charge you anything, we advised you as to the extent of what could be going on with your engine. I hope that you will read this response and get your car looked at. Somewhere.. Thank you, Litchfield Auto Repair

I own a 1973 f100 and have brought it to Litchfield auto on multiple occasions. Always great customer service and every time I hear what it's gonna cost I'm surprised at how cheap it is. By far the best mechanic I've ever brought my vehicle to

We're glad we are always able to make quality fries at a fair price! Thank you for your continues business, Jake!

Free diagnosis before replacing a connector and after to see if I had other issues. They recommended replacing a part without trying to get me to have them order it or put it on. No charge on small simple fixes too. They didn't charge me excessively for parts but they do charge $100/hr for labor which is expected. They also worked on it a day prior to my appointment. I dropped it off with my keys in the drop box on a Wed night, they finished on Thursday afternoon even though I had an appointment for Fri morning. The only thing I didn't like was how they had my car in reverse w/o the e-brake on and not looking at the shifter I started it up (I park in neutral) and the car jumped backwards onto the curb and nearly hit the railing. The worst part about it was the excuses I got. One of the techs told me they always put a manual transmission in the lowest gear and repeated that as the reason after I told him the e-brake wasn't on. NO EXCUSE TO NOT HAVE THE E-BRAKE ON and I should've given a lower rating b/c of that.

Thank you so much for letting us know your feedback! We hope to see you again in the near future so that we are able to prove to you that we're serious about great service.

I would not come or trust this place. I brought my statement from Toyota of all the work they would do to fix my van. Being pregnant I brought my car to this location for a second opinion after Toyota looked at. Due to reviews we came. Being a military spouses, 36 weeks pregnant at the time... I feel that I was taken advantage due to price in fixing the 3 leaks in the engine that was over 5g they quoted me on... I should of went back to Toyota dealership with the same paperwork I showed them the problem they found and had them do it...due to the fact that Toyota dealership would fixed the problem and more. They can leave a long review to keep all there reviews seeming like they are loyal but sadly as time went on I have come to find more people being taken advantage by this company. I'm just glad I'm leaving my experience about them through google. I will not return or refer people to them. It's sad what people/companies do to get as much money as possible. I will steer and warn military spouses to stay from this company.

Well I have waited a couple days to respond to this because after speaking with Jaime's husband I thought they may remove or edit their review. When I asked him what it was that they were unhappy about our services from over 6 months ago he said " I don't know, I'm not sure why she had left that review". Not sure what to say to that I asked why she would think that we try to " get as much money as possible" from pregnant women or military. His response was "not sure". I expressed to him that we ourselves have family in the military and take offence to this statement. He had said that it was not a good time to talk and I had asked to have them call back to discuss the situation. To this point have heard nothing. I believe she may have the situation reversed. We had performed so much work on the van that it required we have it for a week. Between the nearly 50 hours of labor to perform the work and the near $2000 in parts, we were much less than the dealer. We also performed several maintenance items at the same time as suspension work, steering work, water pump replacement, power steering work, tune up, etc... We did not just fix a couple oil leaks as she had stated. Between the over lapping labor discounts and the $545.99 military discount they had received this brought a nearly $7000 worth of repairs to an out the door total just below $5200. When they had seen the difference in price verses the other shops this is when they had decided to have us do the repairs and approved all this work. I glad to see that there are no complaints on the vehicles condition after performing so much work. We always try to do our best and describing what services are being performed and at what price. We offer for customers to look at the vehicles with us while on the hoist's and to have a full understanding of all the options for repairs such prioritizing them. The Nyman's chose to do it all at the same because they could take advantage of large savings with overlapping labor. I do thank them for the business, and hope to retain them as customers. And thank you Mr. Nyman Sir for your services. We always feel most appreciative for what our armed forces do for our communities and our country. Phil Pecora Litchfield Auto Repair

I will never go any place other than Litchfield auto repair for any of my car needs. They give you an honest diagnosis and don't nickel and dime. I had multiple quotes from other shops and they saved me a ton of money. Everyone was very nice and took the time to explain to me what was wrong so I understood. I recommend this place to any and everyone. Thank you !

Hi Nicole, We are so pleased that you've had a wonderful experience with us! We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Been here twice and both times very happy. Once with an 07 Scion XB and the second time with a 70 C10 pick up. Old or new they didn't bat an eye and helped me out. If you want quality and people you can trust, don't cheap out.

Phil (owner) is awesome. He truly cares about servicing your vehicle and not only that, but educating you on what services he performed and why he performed it. Labor cost is average and compared to other places you go, the service here is definitely worth the labor cost above all other repair shops I've been to. I used to take my old 2000 Camry down here that was just a ticking time bomb on when something new was going to go out. Whether it be a starter or just my check engine light. Phil kept that baby running all the way up to 275k miles until I made the personal decision to upgrade vehicles. Keep it up LP auto repair! It's not just the work you do, but the extra service and care you provide! Much appreciated

I have not had any repairs done at this shop but I had my car diagnosed for a couple issues I was having. Everyone I spoke with was very nice and informative. I felt like I could trust them but did not proceed with the repairs since I have an old vehicle and it would not be worth it for me to put that much money into repairs.

I took my truck to them back in January because it was leaking fluid from the transfer case. They told me my transfer case was bad and needed to be replaced. It would cost $1,735.92 in parts and labor for a used transfer case. I told them I didnt have that money so I took my truck to AZ differential and they replaced the seal which was $19.95 and put new fluid in it which was $55.92. My truck runs fine to this day and doesnt leak anymore. Their motto is "At least there is one fair & honest mechanic" couldn't be any further from the truth.

Wonderful mechanics & front office. I've been here multiple times for a variety of issues and have always left happy. They went above & beyond to make sure that I was satisfied.
